Kolkata, Jan 03: Kolkata today recorded the coldest day in the season with mercury dipping to 11.7 degrees celsius, even as there was no let-up in the cold wave condition all over West Bengal. Weatherman said that the moderate cold spell would continue for some more days.
Dense fog continued to delay air, rail and road traffic for the third day today.
Foggy conditions caused a road accident near lake town in north 24-parganas district last night, when three persons were killed in a collision between two heavy vehicles.
After Darjeeling, where mercury dropped to 0.1 degrees celsius, the minimum temperature hovered between 8.3 degrees and 11.4 degrees at Bankura, Berhampore, Krishnagar, Contai and the sea resort of Digha, Met department said.
No loss of life was reported from anywhere in the state due to cold wave.
