Sharing concern over the recent terrorist attacks in New York and Washington, India and Tajikistan on decided to have strong cooperation in stamping out the growing Islamic fundamentalism the world over. The decision was taken when minister of state for external affairs Omar Abdullah called on Tajikistan president Imomali Rahmonov at Dushanbe, officials said here.
The two sides criticised the attack on the World Trade Centre and Pentagon and expressed sympathies towards the people of the United States.
Abdullah told the host country about the growing threat in the region because of Islamic fundamentalism and sought co-operation from central Asian countries to stamp out the menace completely. Rahmonov said his country, which is bordering Afghanistan, was also facing serious threat due to religious terrorism and shared the concern of New Delhi to free the entire globe of this menace.

The minister also met the foriegn and defence ministers of the country and shared the similar concern with them also. Bureau Report
