Los Angeles: "Mad Men" actress Christina Hendricks has been cast in Sundance TV's upcoming '80s drama series "Hap and Leonard".

The 40-year-old Emmy nominee will star as Hap Collins's ex-wife Trudy, who resurfaces after two years with a proposition that he can't refuse, said The Hollywood Reporter.


Hendricks has joined the cast of "Solomon Kane" actor James Purefoy and "The Wire" star Michael Kenneth Williams.


Based on the book series by Joe Lansdale, the six-episode series centres on a pair of best friends Hap Collins (Purefoy, a white working-class ex-con and Leonard Pine (Williams), an openly gay, black Vietnam vet with anger issues. Together, the duo fight to stay on the right side of the law in 1980s East Texas.


"Hap and Leonard", produced by Sundance Studios and directed by Jim Mickle, will air in 2016.
