Srinagar, Oct 19: Two militants and an army officer were killed in a gunbattle in the frontier district of Kupwara in Jammu and Kashmir early today, defence sources said here.
The encounter broke out at K K Gali, 10 km north-west of Kupwara, in the wee hours when militants opened fire on an army patrol, they said.
Two militants, yet to be identified, and a lieutenant were killed in the encounter, the sources added.
