New Delhi, Apr 24: Whirlpool India today announced the launch of a new range of icemagic refrigerators and magicool air conditioners, for which it has earmarked Rs 15 crore as advertising and marketing budget. The company also said it will foray into new product categories later this year including dishwashers and dryers, taking the total number of new launches planned for 2003 to 20.

"We have lined up 20 new launches this year....These include dishwashers, a category we are entering for the first time in India. We have also just launched laundry dryers in the country," managing director Raj Jain told reporters here.
He said these product launches are being supported by Rs 15 crore media campaign.
Jain claimed 23 per cent market share of the company across the appliance category of washing machines, refrigerators, air conditioners and microwaves, saying the company sold 1.2 million appliances last year and was eyeing 15 per cent sales growth in 2003. Bureau Report
