New Delhi, July 06: The Japanese vice minister for International Affairs, Tadakatsu Sano on Saturday said that both India and Japan would work together to sort out differences in the upcoming Cancun Ministerial conference, according to a CII statement has issued.
"India is seeking bilateral agreements with several countries... There is nothing wrong in it. Even Japan is ready for a bilateral treaty with India provided there is a formal proposal from the Indian government," he said.
The minister, however, said he was not very sure as to why India had reservations about multilateral agreements and failed to understand certain points raised by the Commerce Ministry.
The visiting Japanese Minister yesterday discussed WTO issues with Commerce Minister Arun Jaitley and tried to have a better understanding of India's position on trade issues including investment.
