Raipur, July 19: The national executive of the Bharatiya Janata Party will today deliberate on the RSS suggestion for building the Ram temple at Ayodhya through a legislation in Parliament. Yesterday, the party raked up the issue of Sonia Gandhi`s foreign origin. Although the BJP has stated its position time and again that it would not be possible for the government to come out with such a legislation because it would not find many supporters from among the allies-the Shiv Sena members, the party had decided to discuss the issue at its executive.
Firstly, it would be difficult to get the legislation approved in the Cabinet as many NDA allies, including the Samata Party and Janata Dal (United) had made already stated their opposition to such a legislation.
The Samata Party has gone to the extent of adopting a resolution stating that such a legislation would not be in the interest of social harmony.
Party leaders, including Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani and party president M Venkaiah Naidu, have also stated that it would not be possible for the government to pass the legislation in view of the numbers in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
The party however, wants the temple construction at Ayodhya either through mutual discussions or through court verdict. Bureau Report
