Kumar Sanu honoured on TV show `Sa Re Ga Ma Pa`
Paying a tribute to Sanu, the contestants of the show presented some of his hit songs from the 1990s.
Mumbai: Singer Kumar Sanu, who has regaled music lovers for over three decades with his distinct style of singing, will appear on the popular singing reality show "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa" as a celebrity guest for a special episode dedicated to him.
Paying a tribute to Sanu, the contestants of the show presented some of his hit songs from the 1990s.
"It was a wonderful experience to witness all the young talent performing songs that they probably classify as retro from the good old '90s. I thoroughly enjoyed all the performances and must say they are phenomenally talented and have a long way to go," Sanu said in a statement.
"After all, 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa' is a platform known to identify and groom only the best talent and has made a significant contribution to the music fraternity," he added.
Singer Mika Singh, who is seen as a mentor on the Zee TV show along with Sajid Ali, Wajid Ali, Pritam Chakraborty, said that it was an honour to have Sanu on their show.
"We all were awestruck with his singing talent and relived the 1990s in this special episode. Sanu and I performed a remix version of the song 'Dekha teri mast nigahon mein' with a modern touch," Mika said.
The episode of the show featuring Sanu will be aired on June 5.
