Kathmandhu, Sept 29: Suspected Maoist rebels attacked a private school in the Nepalese capital on Sunday, injuring a guard and damaging school property, police and eyewitnesses said. A group of about dozen men forced their way into the school early on Sunday morning, burned a school bus, vandalized the offices and exploded a bomb in the principal's office.

Police officials at the scene said a guard who tried to stop the attackers was slightly injured in a scuffle with the attackers.

There were more than 100 students were at the Galaxy School when it came under attack, but the students were in their dormitories far from the administrative buildings.
