Lucknow, Aug 10: The political scene in Uttar Pradesh during the next fortnight is expected to heat up again with the submission of the CBI's interim report on the Taj heritage controversy after August 17 next. The ruling BSP-BJP coalition, which nearly collided head-on over the Taj issue following Chief Minister Mayawati's demand to sack Union Tourism Minister Jagmohan, might again be in a tight situation if the interim report, to be submitted before the Supreme Court, speaks against the state government.

The apex court had directed the CBI on July 16 to submit its interim report within four weeks and a full report by eight weeks.

Meanwhile, the BSP's national workers convention here on August 25 and the crucial budget session of the state assembly from August 28 is also expected to be stormy for the ruling coalition.
The revival of dissident activities by some BJP legislators might also create an impact on the assembly session. The government is expected to witness a no-confidence motion, to be moved by the joint opposition, in the assembly after September 5. The last no-confidence motion was rejected by the assembly on March 5last.
The dissident activities in the BJP Legislature Party forced the government to postpone the budget session for three weeks. Earlier the session was to be held from August 7 but now it will begin on August 28. Bureau Report
