Panchkula, Sept 15: Madhu Sharma, wife of prime suspect in journalist Shivani Bhatnagar murder case Ravi Kant Sharma, today alleged that Delhi Police was preventing her husband from surrendering before court. "My husband may be waiting for an opportunity to surrender before court. However, Delhi Police has made a web across the country to desist Sharma from reaching court," the wife of senior Haryana-cadre IPS officer told reporters at an impromptu press briefing at her residence here on her return from Delhi.
She said over 300 personnel of Delhi Police are after Sharma.
"Earlier, Delhi Police claimed that Sharma has left the country, but now it is claiming that he has fled to Nepal," she said.

"My husband is a responsible citizen of the country and senior police officer. He cannot do any activity which is not under the ambit of law," she said.
She alleged that Delhi Police was framing baseless charges against her husband and even threatening her family members. "Always about 20 police personnel are seen chasing me and my family members," she alleged.
Madhu said she had not met her husband after August three and her lawyers had no contact with Sharma after August 17.
She reiterated that her husband was ready to surrender before court provided he was "given proper opportunity". Bureau Report
