Banka, June 26: Altogether 114 activists of the banned peoples war have surrendered before senior civil and police officials at Belhar block office of Bihar's Banka district, official sources said here today. All the 114 PW ultras, some of them having over a dozen cases of violence against them, surrendered at a function yesterday, superintendent of police K M Lal said. The district administration promised them to provide soft loans and job opportunities.
After screening cases against the surrendered activists, the district administration would also work out a plan for their social rehabilitation, Lal said. Besides Lal, deputy inspector general of police, Bhagalpur range, P N Rai and Banka district magistrate R Prasad attended the function.
