Babri case accused exempted from personal appearance
Rae Barreily, June 24: A special CBI court today exempted Unions ministers L K Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi and six other accused in the Babri Masjid demolition case from personal appearance and fixed July 5 as the next date of hearing.
Rae Barreily, June 24: A special CBI court today exempted Unions ministers L K Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi and six other accused in the Babri Masjid demolition case from personal appearance and fixed July 5 as the next date of hearing.
The court of judicial magistrate Vinod Kumar Singh exempted the accused from personal appearance for the day and said it would hear arguments on the charges levelled by CBI in the next hearing.
As per the court's June 19 directive, copies of three audio and four video cassettes, produced against the accused, were given to the defence counsel.
Besides the two ministers, Uttar Pradesh BJP chief Vinay Katiyar, Madhaya Pradesh BJP chief Uma Bharati, VHP leaders Ashok Singhal, Giriraj Kishore, Vishnu Hari Dalmia and Sadhvi Ritambara are accused of instigating people that led to the demolition of the mosque on December 6, 1992.
