New Delhi, Mar 16: Unearthing yet another cartel of multi-crore stamp paper scam accused Abdul Karim Telgi in Delhi, police here nabbed his two associates and recovered counterfeit stamp papers worth Rs 65 lakh from them.
Rahul alias Vinod (22) and Parvinder Singh (32) were nabbed by the Crime Branch sleuths on Monday evening following a tip off, police said on Tuesday.

Police had received information that a man, connected to Telgi, was carrying fake stamp papers and was planning to dispose these off, police said.

A decoy was deputed and a deal was struck for purchase of stamp papers of Rs 1,000 for Rs 500 near PVR cinema in Vikas Puri area of West Delhi, they said, adding as soon as the transaction took place, Rahul was nabbed.

A search was conducted on the bag being carried by him and fake stamp papers of Rs five lakh were allegedly found in it, they said, adding fake stamp papers of Rs 35 lakh were seized during a subsequent search at his residence.
During interrogation, Rahul disclosed alleged involvement of Parvinder, they said. A raid was conducted at his house and he was arrested and fake stamp papers of Rs 20 lakh were recovered from his house in Mahavir Enclave in Palam.

The two are associates of one Deepak, a close accomplice of Telgi and at present lodged in a Karnataka jail, they said.

Deepak, arrested by Delhi Police along with three others on October 5, 2002, had allegedly handed over a consignment to Rahul about two years ago for selling it off, police said.
After Deepak's arrest, the two were inactive for over one-and-half years and became active recently. Bureau Report
