Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly on Friday said that he would have a word with national selectors on the issue of not being consulted for the selection of the Indian team for the first Test against England scheduled to be played in Mohali on December 3. “I will have a word with the national selectors,” he told mediapersons on his arrival at the Kolkata airport from Mumbai.
On asked, whether he would raise the issue with the Indian board, the Indian captain said, “I cannot comment on that.” To a direct question on whether he was happy with the team Ganguly simply said, “It is the selectors' decision.”
Ganguly said the doubt over Virender Sehwag's inclusion in the team was in no way affecting the spirit of his boys. “It is the board's decision. The moral of the team is very high. All the members of the Indian team are fit and raring to go. I don't see any problem.”
On India's poor performance in South Africa, Ganguly said, “We had not played well. They were a better side.” Bureau Report
