Shelling, firing exchange continues along LoC, IB in J&K
Jammu, Aug 09: The exchange of shelling and firing between Indian and Pakistani troops along the Line of Control and international border continued since last evening without causing any damage on the Indian side, defence sources said here today.

Pakistani troops continued targeting forward defence
positions in Drass and Batalick sectors with artillery and
mortar shelling from across the LoC since last evening, the
sources said.
Indian army also responded effectively and the exchange
of firing continued till this morning, they said, adding there
was no casualty or damage reported on the Indian side.
Sporadic small arms firing exchange along LoC also took place in some sectors of Rajouri and Poonch during the period.
Intermittent exchange of firing along IB between Pakistan border guards and BSF personnel was also reported in Samba and Akhnoor sectors last night.

However, intensity of firing exchange was heavier in
Sangral area of R S Pura sector during the period, they said
adding no loss of life or any damage to property has been
reported so far.
