A special CBI court in Patna rejected the bail application of former Bihar chief minister Jagannath Mishra in a case of the multi-crore rupees fodder scam. The designated CBI judge, S K Mishra, had remanded Mishra to judicial custody till February four and listed his bail application for hearing.
The case relates to fraudulent withdrawal of over Rs 47 lakh from the Bhagalpur treasury by the animal husbandry department officials through fake and forged bills between 1990 and 1997.
Mishra's counsel, Manushanker Mishra, told reporters that his client would move the Patna High Court for bail in the case no RC 63 (a) 96 on Wednesday.
Another former state chief minister and RJD president Laloo Prasad Yadav had already been granted bail by the Patna High Court in the case.
