Shatabdi Express chugs safe over postal bundles, mishap averted
Phagwara (Punjab), July 11: A mishap involving the Delhi-bound Swarn Shatabdi Express from Amritsar was averted this evening when the train ploughed through bundles of postal articles lying on the track at the station here.

The bundles of postal mail fell on the track while being
shifted from one platform to another.
As the train went through in full speed at 1830 hrs, the postal articles were torn to shreds and scattered all around. Some of the letters were thrown as far as one km from the area. Taranjit Singh, assistant sub-inspector GRPF told reporters two bundles were totally damaged and two dozen letters torn to pieces. About five bundles were late retrieved by railway and postal employees. Bureau Report
