Coimbatore, Apr 27: Some students of the Coimbatore Medical College today squatted in the campus, covering their mouths with black pieces of cloth, on the fifth day of their indefinite strike, demanding, among other things, a ban on the opening of private medical colleges in Tamil Nadu. The students, numbering 250, including 150 women, sat beneath a pandal for nearly four hours from 1030 am, college sources said.
Their demands include a hike in stipend and Indian Medical Council's recognition to as many as 79 of their courses.
The students have planned to form a 'human chain' in the city tomorrow. Bureau Report
