Nagpur, Dec 13: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Maharshtra Gopinath Munde today demanded a CBI probe into the incidents at Kankvali, where the house of opposition leader in the legislative assembly, Narayan Rane of Shiv Sena was torched following killing of NCP leader Satyavijay Bhise on November 23. Initiating a short discussion under rule 101 in the state assembly here, Munde alleged that NCP had become a den of Mafia gang and Bhise was done to death by criminals hired by NCP itself and not by Shiv Sena workers as claimed by the ruling Congress-NCP alliance. Munde also demanded that top police officials, who were allegedly ‘part of the violent act and arson’ should be booked for the crime and be arrested immediately. The whole incident, including torching of Rane's house, petrol pump and other property, lasted for three hours and police simply played the role of onlookers, he said.
Munde asked as to why police did not use force like lathicharge, bursting of teargas shells or firing to disperse the angry crowd.

“It was a pre-planned conspiracy of agitators in nexus with police,” Munde said.
He also questioned the wisdom of concerned police officials for imposing a ban of entry of Rane when he tried to visit his own home after the incident.
