Fujitsu will be making a supercomputer with similar powers for an education ministry research facility on a five-year contract costing 60 million yen ($499,000) a month, spokesman Kazuhiro Kikuchi said.
Both machines are less powerful than the world`s most powerful supercomputers but offer comparable capabilities at a lower price. They would carry out research on biotechnology and nanotechnology, the officials said.
