Beijing, Mar 03: Private entrepreneurs in large numbers have become lawmakers in China's Parliament for the first time, ending the domination of hard-core Communist Party elite and elders. The major transformation, in accordance with the ruling Communist Party of China's (CPC) decision to allow private businessmen into the party-fold at the 16th party congress last November, has made possible the entry of private entrepreneurs, lawyers, freelancers and other professionals to the National People's Congress (NPC) -- China's Parliament. The new entrants were described as "Nouveur Stratum" by the party last year. Figures show that there are 55 private entrepreneurs among the deputies to the new NPC session, which will open here tomorrow for an annual two-week session. The session would elect new Chinese government leaders, including President, Vice President and Premier. Bureau Report
