The film took a total of seven awards during the night, Christopher Nolan won best director, Cillian Murphy won best actor and Robert Downey Jr. won best supporting actor. The film also won awards for best cinematography, best original score and best film editing.

Jimmy Kimmel took a dig at Donald Trump while onstage at the 96th Oscars less than an hour after the ex-president penned a scathing Truth Social post about the late-night talk show host. “Has there EVER been a WORSE HOST than Jimmy Kimmel at The Oscars. His opening was that of a less than average person trying too hard to be something which he is not, and never can be,” Kimmel read aloud Trump’s post from his phone.
Kimmel then quipped: “See if you can guess which former president just posted that on Truth Social.” He then thanked Trump for watching before asking: “Isn’t it past your jail time?”
