Seth MacFarlane is returning to direct, co-write the script and voice the ribald title character, reportedly.

On Twitter, MacFarlane noted that both Neeson and recently confirmed cast member Morgan Freeman had been on the set to film this week.

Neeson, who currently stars in 'A Walk Among the Tombstones', played the villain in MacFarlane's 'A Million Ways to Die in the West', which flopped earlier this year.

'Ted', released in June 2012, grossed USD 549.4 million worldwide. 'Ted 2' stars Mark Wahlberg and Amanda Seyfried. Universal is planning to release the film on June 26, 2015.
