"In 2012, I read a news article and then the idea was sort of brewing in my head. I then wrote it with friends Ankur Khanna and Aparna Singh. And Tillotama and I sort of discussed the idea, we shot it last year and now it's here," Jaydeep said.

"It's a 20-minute film but it's been a long journey making it," he added. Jaydeep said the film is a "journey" of modern, glamorous lifestyles.

"I wanted to make something about the world we live in, where we see lives on hoardings and the life which is promised to us by the malls and the glamour of the promised life. And it's about the journey that we've made to get there and to be able to afford that lifestyle," he said.

"Nayantara's Necklace" stars Gulshan Devaiah, Konkona Sen Sharma and Tillotama Shome.
