The Weinstein Co had earlier scheduled to open the film on September 4, but Relativity Studios, handling domestic distribution, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, throwing the fates of its films into doubt, reported Entertainment Weekly.

Even prior to the Relativity drama, "Jane" had a tumultuous past, including a director's departure, a lawsuit, and a revolving door of actors.

The film, which is directed by Gavin O'Connor, also stars Ewan McGregor and Noah Emmerich.

It will be released in Europe in November.
