Produced by horror legend Sam Raimi, this remake of a 1982 classic brings the concept of supernatural evil in a suburban home to a new generation, reported Digital Spy.

Eric Bowen (Sam Rockwell) and his wife Amy (Rosemarie DeWitt) are settling into their new house, when vengeful spirits begin taking the form of their children's dolls to terrify them.

The Bowens call in noted medium Carrigan Burke (Jared Harris), who could be their only hope when their young daughter is taken to the spiritual world. Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and screenwriter David Lindsay-Abaire have adapted Steven Spielberg, Michael Grais and Mark Victor's original screenplay for this new version.

The original "Poltergeist" has been touted as an iconic horror movie, earning three Oscar nominations and placing on the American Film Institute's 100 Years...100 Thrills list.
