It was revealed earlier this month that Smith has recorded the number. He becomes the first British solo male vocalist to sing over the opening credits since Tom Jones in 1965.

The 23-year-old artiste has co-written the track with fellow Grammy-winner Jimmy Napes.

He teased the song on his Instagram page. The preview does not feature his vocals but the haunting and mysterious instrumentals build-up for the song.

"Four days!!!! Thank you so much to everyone pre-ordering, cannot wait for you to hear 'Writing's On The Wall'," Smith captioned the audio clip.

"Writing's on the Wall" is due out on Friday, September 25.

"Spectre", which will feature Daniel Craig in his fourth performance as James Bond, is due to be released in the UK simultaneously with its London world premiere on October 26 before hitting the US on November 6 and in India on November 20.
