Ahmedabad, July 02: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi had sprained his leg while pulling the main chariot during the 126th rath yatra yesterday, official sources said. "The chief minister sprained his leg slightly as he was pulling the main rath after flagging off the procession at the Jagannath Temple, but he is in better condition today," chief minister office sources said here today. Senior doctors of the civil hospital had rushed to Modi's residence and treated him immediately, they said adding that the chief minister was back at office and met his cabinet ministers also. Modi had yesterday performed the traditional 'pahind' that paved way for commencement of the yatra after which he pulled the rope attached to the chariots, with the assistance of khalasis (traditional chariot pullers) amidst heavy rush of devotees and security personnel.
