Khartoum, Oct 23: Sudan has came out in strong support of India's peace initiative with Pakistan as the two countries condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations while agreeing that the emerging world order should be multi-polar built on the principles of democracy. Khartoum also backed India's candidature in an expanded UN Security Council and decided to closely coordinate positions with new delhi in international fora.

"Sudan welcomes the initiative taken by the Prime Minister of India aimed at fostering friendship and good neighbourly relations between India and Pakistan, and supports resolution of India-Pakistan issues through dialogue and peaceful means," a joint statement issued at the conclusion of President A P J Abdul Kalam two-day visit to this North African country yesterday. The statement issued shortly before Kalam left for the third leg of his three-nation tour to Bulgaria from here highlighted the need to effectively combat the global menace of terrorism, which knew no religion or geographical boundaries.
