New Delhi, Feb 20: Disinvestment Minister Arun Shourie on Thursday said the sharp drop of 172 points in the sensex ahead of the six PSU public issues will not affect the government's disinvestment programme through the IPO route and not impact the pricing of the offerings. ''Our pricing will depend on the strength of the company and advice of the financial advisors,'' Shourie said when asked whether a strong reaction in the market could play a spoilsport to the IPOs, which hit the markets tomorrow.
The 30-issue Bombay share index plummeted 2.85 per cent to close at 5,855.10, its lowest close in two weeks.
The share decline was across the board. However, vested buying managed to keep IPCL, set to hit the markets today, in the positive territory, market sources said. Bureau Report
