Chandigarh, Oct 24: With sporadic cases of fever exhibiting symptoms like Japanese encephalitis being reported from several districts in the state, the Haryana health department is taking all necessary preventive and curative measures to control the situation. Sporadic cases of the disease have been reported from the districts of Karnal, Ambala and Kurukshetra, Director General Health Services, B S Dahiya, told reporters here today, adding as many as 20 doctors, 10 pharmacists and five laboratory technicians have been deputed additionally to check the upsurge of any vector borne disease.

He said that seven cases of dengue fever, which were reported in the state, were fast recovering from illness and the situation in affected areas of Punhana and Ferozepur Jhirka in Mewat was well under control. Village out posts has been set up to examine the suspects, prepare their blood slides and provide treatment, besides educating people through 'Swasthya Shiksha' teams stationed at the posts.

Dahiya said that he himself had visited the eight villages of the Ujina primary health center and villages of Mallai, Ransikha and Alimave in Faridabad district to take stock of the situation and issued necessary guidelines. Bureau Report
