Patna, May 06: The Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) today supported reservation of 33 per cent seats for women in Parliament and state legislatures but advocated separate quota for women belonging to SCs and STs and backward castes. ''LJP is not averse to reservation of seats for women as mooted by the centre but the party wants that not only SCs and STs but women belonging to backward castes should also be provided with similar facility'', LJP president Ramvilas Paswan told reporters here. Asked if he would return to NDA fold, Paswan said he would not have any truck with the NDA so long as the BJP continued to be a part of it. ''I can think of joining hands with the NDA constituents to contest the next Lok Sabha polls provided they give in writing that they will severe ties with the BJP''. He said his party could enter into an electoral alliance with the congress at the national level to keep at bay the BJP from returning to power.
''Talks are underway with top Congress leaders to forge an alliance for the next parliamentary elections'', he added. Referring to Bihar, Paswan claimed his party with the help of CPI and NCP would form the next government in the state. Bureau Report
