On specific information, police party reached village Kasil t-point at 5.30 am where the Ultras were hiding, SSP Kultar Singh said.
"The moment police party reached the hideout of the terrorists, they started firing on them. The headquarters was immediately asked to send more forces. Within an hour, a platoon of Punjab police tightly cordoned the entire area forcing the terrorists to surrender," he said.
The Ultras were identified as Manjinder Singh, Gurbhej Singh and Lakhwinder Singh, the police official said adding three AK-47 assault rifles, its three magazine and 57 live cartridges of AK-47 were recovered from their possession.
The SSP said Gurbhej Singh was arrested in a day light dacoity of Rs five lakhs. However, he was convicted and released from the jail recently.
Gurbhej Singh is the real brother of Kashmir Singh Sheera, a close associate of chief of Khalistan Commando Force (KCF) Paramjit Singh Panjwar, who is reportedly in Pakistan and his name figures in the list of top twenty terrorists handed over to the Pakistan by the Indian government after the December 13, 2001 attack on Parliament.
