New Delhi,Oct 31: Sachin Tendulkar's stunning six against Shoaib Akhtar in the 2003 World Cup has been chosen the most memorable cricketing moment this year at the Electrolux Wisden International Awards.

Australian Ricky Ponting was adjudged the Wisden International Cricketer of the Year.

Meanwhile, Andy Bichel received the Wisden One-Day Performance of the Year award.


Sachin Tendulkar received the special ESPN-Star Sports Moment of the Year Award for his square cut six off Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar during the World Cup clash between India and Pakistan in South Africa early this year.



Australia has been declared the best cricket team of the year. Meanwhile, The Wall Rahul Dravid has been named Wisden Indian Cricketer of the Year 2002-03.


England captain Michael Vaughan and Australian leg-spinner Shane Warne, currently serving a one-year ban for failing a drug test, bagged the awards for the Best Performance of the Year in batting and bowling respectively at a function on Thursday night.
The youngest ever South African skipper, Graeme Smith, won the Young Cricketer of the Year award. The other nominees in this category were James Anderson (England bowler) and the young off-spinner from West Indies Omari Banks.



Mumbai's National Centre for Performing Arts played host to the most happening cricketers at the awards ceremony.


All international performances during the one-year period from September 2002 to August 2003 have been taken into account.


The awards include the all-important Electrolux International Cricketer of the Year apart from the best batting and bowling Performances, ODI Performance of the Year, Young Player of the Year and the popular People's Choice Award for the Indian Cricketer of the Year.
