Washington, May 29: The United States has imposed sanctions on an Iranian company, two Moldovan firms and a Moldovan businessman for transfer of equipment and technology controlled under the missile technology control regime. "A determination has been made that entities in Moldova have engaged in missile technology proliferation activities that requires imposition of sanctions pursuant to the Arms Control Act," the State Department said.
An Iranian company has also been sanctioned for its material contribution to Iran's ballistic missile programme through its involvement in this activity, State Department spokesman Richard Boucher said.
The companies sanctioned in Moldovia are Vladov, Cuanta S.A. and Computer & Communicatt Srl.
They and their sub-units and successors will be denied all new individual export licences, commerce control or state control missile technology control regime items, and all new US government contracts for two years.
