In a joint operation by Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh police, one member of the dreaded Nirbhay Singh Gujjar gang was killed and eight people abducted by the group were rescued from the forests of Etawah. Reports reaching the state police headquarters on Wednesday said police personnel drawn from the two states launched a joint combing operation in the forests near Jaharpura police station of Etawah. Other members of the gang, however, escaped into the forests under cover of darkness. All those rescued were residents of Auraiya, Etawah in (Uttar Pradesh) and Bhind in Madhya Pradesh. Bureau Report
