Samsung India Electronics Ltd on Wednesday launched its new digital ready flat and projection colour televisions, and said that it would introduce a plasma television in June this year in a bid to boost its domestic marketshare.
The flat television range called Plano comprised eight models in different screen sizes, a company release said.
"The Tantus projection televisions has features like Dolby Pro-Logic Surround Sound and PC connectivity and come in 43" and 54" screen sizes respectively," it added.
"We expect our flat television controbution to the grow to 14 per cent of our total colour television sales volume this year," Samsung India, vice president (sales) Ravi Zutshi was quoted as saying.
This year, the company has targeted to sell seven lakh colour televisions in the domestic market and export over two lakh units.
Samsung India expects to achieve revenues of Rs 1,520 crore from its consumer electronics and home appliances business in the current year. Bureau Report
