Bangalore, Nov 30: Being fit and looking good is no longer for the young and affluent and it's everybody's right, says this successful woman.
Vandana Luthra, Founder-Chairperson of Vandana Luthra's Curls and Curves, more commonly known as VLCC, was in City to launch her White Secrets products. This is the latest addition to the personal care products of VLCC, which includes the Just for Men range.
Ms. Luthra says: "Aging is not chronological, it is environmental. Everyday our skin is exposed to sun, wind, pollution, harsh chemicals, stress, and worry. All these, together have a tremendous effect on our skin and it is very important to look after our skin to prevent it from aging."
While everybody has to age, you can delay the process, she says. The secret to achieving and maintaining healthy, young looking skin is balance in your life and skin care routine. What she offers are synergistic skin care products that cleanse, moisturise, treat, and protect the skin. Proper skin treatment helps you get a young and smooth skin, reduces the appearance of fine lines, and wrinkles and helps protect your skin from the harmful elements that cause aging. Ms. Luthra started her chain 12 years ago with a dream, she says. It was a dream to help people regain their self-confidence by helping them feel good about themselves. "In many ways what they feel about themselves makes people what they are. Confidence in one's own body, going beyond cosmetic appearance, is necessary for this. Fitness and beauty are thus essential to self-esteem." This is what she believes in.
After graduating from Delhi University, she went for further education in Cosmetology in Germany. Subsequently, she did a series of courses in beauty care, fitness, food and nutrition, and skin care in London, Paris, and Munich. After gaining all this professional expertise, she made the first business move by opening her first fitness centre in New Delhi in 1989.
Today, she has 50 VLCC centres shaping the confidence of hundreds of thousands. Her recent successes include the launch of "Aroma Studio" and "Workout Factory".
