Hyderabad, Aug 09: Lured by the environs of Andhra Pradesh capital, Chief Election Commissioner J M Lyngdoh today said he will settle down here after retirement. "I will be coming here for good after six months," he said sharing his post-retirement plans with reporters.
During his four-year stint at the National Institute for Rural Development (NIRD), Lyngdoh had made up his mind to make Hyderabad his home after retirement.
"After selling my flat at Banjara Hills, I purchased a plot near Chevella (about 40 km from the city) where I will construct a house and settle down," he said.
Asked why he has chosen the city, Lyngdoh quipped "because east, west, north and south meet here".
"My last visit here was during the 1999 assembly polls. As luck would have it, I liked Chevella and made up my mind (to settle down)," he said.
The CEC ruled out joining politics.
Asked whether he was drawn by IT-savvy Chandrababu Naidu's 'magic', he shot back, "My decision has nothing to do with any politician... I will keep myself 100 miles away from politicians."
On his literary pursuits, Lyngdoh said he had completed writing a travelogue which will shortly go to the publisher.
The book, however, will not throw any light on his work as CEC nor anything about his professional career.
