Dhaka, May 29: Bangladesh today conveyed "displeasure" to India over what it called "pushing its nationals" along the borders, and sought to stop such incidents.
Foreign secretary Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury told reporters here that Dhaka's "displeasure" was communicated to New Delhi and intervention sought to stop incidents along the border.
Chowdhury's comment came in the wake of media reports of uneasiness along the border on alleged pushing of Bengali speaking citizens to its territory along the forces at several border points in western Bangladesh.
Several newspapers in the past few days published reports of repeated attempts made allegedly by paramilitary to "push" Indian nationals into Bangladesh.
Chowdhury said it was "unfortunate" that despite top level meeting of the border forces of the two countries, "such undesirable" incidents were taking place unabated.
Replying to a query the foreign secretary said Bangladesh was ready to sit with India and discuss the matter to resolve the problem peacefully.
Recently, a women's delegation from India visited Bangladesh where they stressed on maintaining peace along the border and keep a vigil on the trouble-makers so that relations between two neighbours would not soured on a trifling issues.
