Bhawna Karir, running media ad link from Bhikaji Cama Place in South Delhi, was arrested by Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of crime branch on the basis of a complaint, deputy commissioner of police (EOW) Dinesh Bhatt said.
Police recovered enrolment application forms, profiles, receipt books, computer with accessories and various other records from the premises of the office, he said.
Preliminary investigations revealed that at least 4700 persons had allegedly been cheated by her and she used to charge between Rs 1100 and Rs 21,000 from each, Bhatt said, adding that so far she has earned around Rs 2.35 crore from such business.
