Lucknow, May 10: Poetess Madhumita Shulka was shot dead in her house in Nishatganj area here, police said today. The domestic help of Shukla informed the police of the crime and said that two persons had visited the house before the murder yesterday, they said. A diary containing telephone numbers of some ministers, politicians, senior bureaucrats and police officials was recovered from the house indicating her connection with influential people of the state, police said. A .315 bore cartridge was recovered from the spot and investigations were on to establish the motive of the murder, police said.
