Canon India claims 30% market share in 30 months
New Delhi, Feb 15: Digital Imaging company Canon India today claimed that it has increased its market share in the overall printer category to 30 per cent in the period ended December 2003 from three per cent in 2001.
New Delhi, Feb 15: Digital Imaging company Canon India today claimed that it has increased its market share in the overall printer category to 30 per cent in the period ended December 2003 from three per cent in 2001.
"Canon India has grown its overall market share from three per cent in 2001 to 30 per cent in the period ended December 2003, according to IDC," a Canon press release said here.
Significant growth has been witnessed across all business segments in 2003 by Canon India. The inkjet printer, laser printers, all-in-ones, projectors, consumables and digital laser manufacturers all posted robust growth, the release said.
In Gujarat and Rajasthan, Canon attained market leadership, with 40 per cent share in Q4 of 2003.
Overall, Canon registered a growth of 13 per cent in turnover to Rs 230 crore from Rs 202 crore, registering a growth of 13 per cent, the release said.
"Our plan for 2004 is to put a big focus on laser printers and digital cameras. We want to maintain 30 per cent marketshare in Bubblejet printers," Alok Bahrdwaj, Director and GM, consumer imaging and information division, Canon India said. Bureau Report
