Durban, Sept 22: The United Cricket Board of South Africa will today reconsider its decision to call off the national team's six-week tour to Pakistan. UCB media liaison officer, Bronwyn Wilkinson said that they had received a new proposal from the Pakistan Cricket Board and the board would discuss the matter.
Wilkinson issued the statement against the background of heated debate here as to whether or not South Africa should have called off the tour, to play three tests and three one-day internationals, at the last minute on Friday.
The UCB cancelled the tour on the eve of the team's departure for Karachi following a bomb blast in an office block in the Pakistan's port city.
Wilkinson would not be drawn into the controversy but said that the UCB would make a decision on reviving or rescheduling the tour later today.
Meanwhile, the South African people had mixed reactions to their team's last minute pull out. While some people have called it a prudent decision others expressed their disappointment.
Many cricket commentators opined that violence was the order of the day in many parts of the world but sports and yet sports fixtures had not been cancelled.
