New Delhi, Aug 29: BJP today cautioned Uttar Pradesh
Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav against reverting the
decision of Mayawati government to shift to a Rae Bareily
Court the cases against Union Ministers L K Advani and M M
Joshi and other BJP leaders in Babri Masjid demolition case
saying if this was done Yadav would face "political exile."
Asked if Yadav were to change the state government stand on Rae Bareli Court trial of the demolition case since the Supreme Court is to begin hearing on September 01, a review petition challenging Mayawati government's decision, BJP spokesman Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said "it is a political case and he would go into exile again as had happened earlier in 1995 after his second term as Chief Minister if he repeats what he had done earlier."
The review petition filed by Public Interest Litigant Mohammed Aslam alias Bhure wants the apex court to quash Mayawati's notification of September 2002 and direct that Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani, HRD Minister Murli Manohar Joshi, BJP leader Uma Bharti and others be tried along with Kar Sevaks in the Lucknow special court on the charge of conspiracy.
To another question that BJP was also partly responsible for helping Yadav to become Chief Minister, he refrained from saying anything except "in today's fluid political situation, we cannot spell out who is our enemy number one in Uttar Pradesh." Bureau Report
