Pune, Nov 29: The first-ever Pune International Film Festival would get off to a glittering start on November 29 at the Inox Multiplex Theatre where world-renowned films would be screened for seven consecutive days.
Union Minister of State for Tourism and Cultural Affairs Vinod Khanna would inaugurate the festival while NCP Chief Sharad Pawar would preside over the function.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh and Deputy Chief Minister Chhagan Bhujbal would be the Chief Guests.
Addressing a press conference, Director of PIFF Jabar Patel and its Chairperson Sabina Sanghvi said the festival would be a "treat" for cine lovers.
International film directors, Andreas Dresen of Germany and Jorge Polacko of Argentina will attend the festival.


Veteran filmmaker Mrinal Sen and renowned actor Dilip Kumar, whose films would be shown at the festival, would be presented with the Lifetime Achievement Awards. The festival will continue till December 5 with film screening's at Inox Multiplex and the National Film Archives of India. The event is being organised in collaboration with Mumbai Academy of Moving Images.
