US aid guard killed in Nepal, 63 Maoist rebels arrested
A guard at the mission of the US agency for international development in Kathmandu was killed on Saturday even as Nepalese security forces rounded up 63 suspected terrorists from different parts of the country after a Maoist commander was killed.

“The US aid guard, identified as Ramesh Manandhar, died in
a hospital after being shot at in the afternoon,” police sources said.
“Two persons have been arrested in connection with this killing and the government is thoroughly investigating the incident,” Home Ministry spokesman Gopendra B Pandey said. “Meanwhile, Nepalese security forces killed a Maoist commander on Friday during search operations in Terhathum district and arrested 63 suspected terrorists from different parts of the country,” Nepalese officials said.
“The commander Bimal Biram was killed on Friday,” Home Ministry sources said, adding, “Eight people were also arrested from Terhathum district.” The Defence ministry said 44 suspected rebels including 26 from Bhaktapur, neighbouring district of Kathmandu were arrested on Saturday and are being interrogated by security forces.
“Another 11 suspected terrorists were also arrested from other parts of the country,” Home Ministry sources said. Bureau Report
