Mumbai, May 14: Blaming the disinvestment policy for the defeat of the NDA government in the Lok Sabha polls, Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray today said the his party supported the Left's demand for scrapping the policy of disinvestment of profit making PSUs. "Shiv Sena was in agreement with the demand made by Left parties for scrapping of the disinvestment policy of profit making PSUs," he told reporters at his residence 'matoshree' in suburban Bandra.

He said, "Most of the parties in NDA resorted to `Ram-Ram' mantra when it suited them and left it abruptly in between. This was another reason for NDA's defeat as it gave a wrong message to the people."

About the "feel good" campaign of NDA, he said that it was well taken up during electioneering, but it did not reach the people. It was necessary to disseminate the message of `feel good factor' to the masses, Thackeray said.

The Sena chief lamented that people in Mumbai had voted for Congress-NCP alliance on "caste and community" lines.
