Tirupati, May 27: Affirming that there would be no snap polls in Andhra Pradesh and assembly elections would be held on schedule next year, TDP supremo and State Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today launched a diatribe against Congress for its "double standards and lack of credibility". In this three-hour inaugural address at the party's annual convention "Mahanadu" here today, Naidu said Congress was trying to stall developmental works taken up TDP and adopting double standards by taking up contrasting stands in states where it is ruling and in states where it is in opposition. "Congress has been trying to politicise and gain political mileage from everything, including the drought, expecting early polls but there would be no snap polls. The next Mahanadu would be held in Hyderabad in may and elections would be held as per schedule after it," he said amidst thunderous response from the delegates.
Summing up the performance of his government, Naidu said TDP has launched many welfare programmes and is committed for the uplift of downtrodden. We have been giving top priority to agriculture, irrigation, education, welfare activities besides political, administrative and legal reforms, he said. Congress on the other hand only has a single point programme of criticising whatever TDP does and has been providing hinderance on the path of development through litigations, agitations and provoking innocent movements, he said.
